The Farakunku Foundation has its origins at Farakunku Lodges, a small eco-friendly hotel based in Tujereng village in the south of The Gambia. Firmly embedded in the local community, owners Heather and Moses have long supported families in their immediate surroundings. They have joined with Alex, Hannah-Fleur, Francine and Rebecca, who between them have over 40 years’ experience working in the charity sector, to create the Farakunku Foundation, and ensure that many more families can have access to education and vital healthcare. Everyone who works for the Farakunku Foundation in the UK does so on an entirely voluntary basis.
